Publishing sector
The publishing sector holds a distinctly important position in the modern world. It serves as the primary means of disseminating knowledge, ideas, and culture. Through publishing, all those involved in the field—authors, editors, publishers, journalists, proofreaders, translators—can share their work and reach a broad audience, thereby exerting a wider influence on the collective thinking of society. With technological advancements and the development of the internet, the publishing sector has undergone significant changes. Digital libraries, e-books, and self-publishing have opened new horizons not only for industry professionals but also for readers. The digitization of publications is now a reality and is expected to evolve further into more specialized areas and content, offering personalized experiences to the reading public of the 21st century.
Certification of professionals in publishing is essential, as it ensures that those working in the literary field possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to perform their duties efficiently and professionally. This enables them to meet the contemporary demands of the digital publishing era. Certification provides a reliable and secure way for readers, publishing houses, and any knowledge-, information-, or idea-sharing entities to assess the competencies and expertise of professionals in the literary and cultural sectors. Thus, certification validates an individual’s suitability for employment in this field, demonstrating that they uphold high standards of professionalism and quality in their work. Enhancing professional reputation and trust in the publishing market is also achieved through commitment to compliance with the regulations and legal framework governing the publishing industry. Recognized certification is offered by TÜV NORD for specialties such as Book Production and Distribution Executive and EL-TRANSLATIONS Editing & Proofreading Expert.
